A Magical Winter Scene in Buyeo
On the second day of our Buyeo trip, after enjoying a hearty lunch, we headed to one of the most historic landmarks in Buyeo—Jeongnimsa Temple’s Five-Story Pagoda. This ancient site is a UNESCO-listed treasure and one of the finest examples of Baekje-era Buddhist architecture.
The day of our visit was particularly special because fresh snow had fallen, covering the temple grounds in a beautiful white blanket. The combination of the snowy landscape and the ancient stone pagoda created an unforgettable winter scene.
š Jeongnimsa Temple’s Five-Story Pagoda – A Historic Landmark in Buyeo
Jeongnimsa Temple was once an important Buddhist temple during the Baekje Kingdom, and its five-story stone pagoda (National Treasure No. 9) stands as a remarkable testament to ancient Korean craftsmanship.
As we walked toward the site, the contrast between the pure white snow and the dark stone structure made the pagoda appear even more majestic.
The site was incredibly peaceful, with very few visitors due to the cold weather, making it feel like we had stepped into a timeless winter wonderland.
❄ Experiencing the Snowy Jeongnimsa Temple Grounds
Walking through the snow-covered temple grounds was a serene and reflective experience. The fresh snowfall added a layer of tranquility to the historical site, making it one of the most picturesque moments of our trip.
One of the most memorable moments was watching our child play in the snow, running around joyfully with the ancient pagoda as the backdrop. The contrast of history and childhood innocence made for a truly heartwarming experience.
